Netflix launches TV, movie streaming on Android phones

Netflix now allows mobile streaming on five Android devices.

t has been available on the iPhone for almost a year, but Netflix just yesterday launched its official Android application on select Google-powered phones.

The app allows users to stream movies and TV shows over WiFi and 3G, browse and search the Netflix Watch Instantly catalogue, and manage their queue.

Currently, it is available on only five phones: HTC‘s Incredible, Nexus One, Evo 4G, and G2 devices, as well as Saumsung’s Nexus S device.

On the homepage tab, users can resume playing the last-watched video on their computer or other devices and browse Netflix’s customized recommendations.

Three other tabs on the app homescreen let users browse genres, search and access their queue.

Mobile review sites like Mobileburnhave observed that the native Search and Back buttons on Android devices function within the application while the Menu button does not.
